Augusta Little League - A message from the Little League President
|
Just this past week, we have installed a new infield at Linscott Field. This is a dirt infield as opposed to stone dust. This should provide great benefits for the field and players in years to come. Baseballs should take truer bounces, and a more comfortable feeling underfoot for players and a lot less scrapes and bruises.
The kids are already enjoying sliding into bases and playing the field. However, we have had a lot of rain in a short amount of time recently and the water table in the ground is very high. This was brought to our attention as the new infield was being put in.
Until we have
a good stretch of dry weather, this could possibly play havoc to
the Linscott field. In which we would have to possibly play a
double header at Rivelli Field on any given night. Please bear
with us until the water table in the ground dries up.
