How long is the baseball season?

The season stretches from the beginning of May to the end of June. We try to avoid scheduling games over Memorial Day weekend (however, this can be subject to change).

When are teams assigned?

Players will be assigned to a team in early April. Majors and Minors players must attend the player evaluation to be drafted to a team. All players will be notified of assignments via email. Coaches will follow up with introductions and the first team practice.

When are practices?

For Majors and Minors, practices are usually 2-3 times a week. Dates and times will depend on the coach, team availability, and field options. For lower levels (Tee Ball, Single A, and Double A), practices are 1-2 times during the week. Practices generally run for an hour to an hour and a half. Practices are not scheduled on Saturdays (because of games) or Sundays.

When are games played?

For Majors and Minors, games are played during the midday and early afternoon on Saturdays. Games are also scheduled for evenings during the week (usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays). For lower levels (Tee Ball, Single A, and Double A), games are played on Saturday mornings until midday.

What does a player need to play baseball?

The league will provide each player with a team shirt and hat for the season. Majors and Minors players should wear baseball pants and rubber-soled cleats for games, if possible. Lower-level players should wear baseball pants or sweatpants and rubber-soled cleats or sneakers. Players will need a baseball glove, league-approved bat, and helmet. Sharing a bat is common. The league may have some extra helmets to borrow for the season. Each team will be provided baseballs and a set of catcher’s gear.

What other activities happen during the season?

Our league is proud to offer many exciting community-based activities. We plan to have a Pitch, Hit and Run competition; Home Run Derby; interleague games; Double A games under the lights; Single A and Tee Ball ice cream social; CALL Day at a Sea Dogs game; and this year we will  be hosting the 12U State All-Star Tournament in July. This is your league, so if you have an exciting idea, please help us make it happen!
